Finlayson has a rich heritage of manufacturing quality textiles since 1820. Even today, Finlayson Oy textiles and Familon bed concepts add a touch of luxury to private homes and public premises. Long-term cooperation with the Allergy and Asthma Federation of Finland guarantees our products are also ideal for allergy sufferers. The dynamically evolving group Finlayson & Co is the driving force behind Finlayson Oy.

Philosophy

Finnish excellence

Rich in tradition, the Finnish Finlayson Oy has been in operation since 1820. The company manufactures and markets high quality home textiles. Since 2004, the Finlayson range has been complemented with Familon duvets and pillows and Familon mattresses. In addition to home textiles, the company's suite of products comprises contract textiles and bed concepts. The Finlayson Pro unit is responsible for contract interior design.

The company's product design, sales and administration units are located in Helsinki. Textile manufacture has been consolidated in the town of Forssa, duvet and pillow manufacture in Kankaanpää and mattress production in Heinola.

Finlayson Oy has been awarded the ISO9001 quality management certificate, the ISO14001 environmental management certificate and the OHSAS18001 certificate for occupational health and safety managements systems.

Familon duvets, pillows and bedspreads are manufactured in Kankaanpää where the annual output is some one million pillows and 500,000 quilted products.

Heinola is the place of manufacture for Familon sprung beds and mattresses and mattress pads. Annual output comes to some 250,000 items.

The location of production facilities in Finland allows greater attention to product safety. As set out in the company's quality management, environmental management and product safety systems, the manufacturing operations of Finlayson Oy act in cooperation with the Allergy and Asthma Federation.

Safe use

Mattresses, pillows, duvets and bed linens affect their users for an average of eight hours a day. This is why thorough research and testing constitute an important part of Finlayson's operations.

Finlayson is also involved in ongoing cooperation with the Allergy and Asthma Federation of Finland in a bid to ensure beforehand the suitability for general use of various materials and to innovate options for particularly sensitive consumers. Advance testing of new materials prevents harmful materials from being used in consumer products.

Finlayson's bed linens, Familon duvets, pillows, special padding mattresses and many mattress pads have been awarded the right to use the Allergy and Asthma Federation of Finland's cooperation label

Oeko-Text

Most Finlayson and Familon products use fabrics that comply with the international Oeko-Tex standard. The Oeko-Tex Standard 100 label ensures products are safe for consumers. To achieve recognition, the textiles must be tested by an independent research institute recognised by Oeko-Tex. Finlayson products contain no substances that are harmful to the human skin and are ideal for persons with allergies or sensitive skin.

Finlayson products have a skin-friendly pH level.
Finlayson products have been proved to be free of harmful substances.
The dyes used are non-toxic.
